Cause-marketing links a business (even a small business) or brand with a social cause for mutual benefit.

Notice the keywords: for mutual benefit. With a cause-marketing partnership, the business attracts new customers, engages customers emotionally, and differentiates its brand. The nonprofit gets income, technical assistance, and visibility to potential volunteers, donors, and advocates.

Cause Marketing Forum predicts healthy growth for cause marketing from 2009 to 2010: rising 6% to $1.6 billion dollars. The reason: The majority of consumers will switch to brand that is associated with a cause.

So what is your nonprofit waiting for? What is your business waiting for? Find your partner! It may be the pizza parlor down the street or a major corporation. The options are right outside your door and right at your fingertips as social media open up new options.

You need to make sure you choose a partner and the program that will enhance your nonprofit's reputation, increase its visibility, and provides funds. And you need to sell your plan to those within the organization and to your planned partner.

The FREE webinar Cause Marketing Basics will help you do just that. The webinar covers cause marketing from the viewpoints of both what a nonprofit needs to get from its business partner and what the business needs.
